Hi, I’m Katy. I’m a Gen Xer who started my career during the early 1990s recession. While it was not quite as bad as the economic crashes in 2002 or 2008, it was a disheartening time — I remember competing for barista jobs with candidates who had post-grad degrees and impressive resumes. I wound up working retail for a while, job hopping a bit, and then, toward the mid-1990s, I discovered HTML.
You wouldn’t think that such a simple thing would be so life-changing, but it was. Many years later, this markup language is still at the center of my career.
What do I do for a living? I’m a Technical Content Manager for a Salesforce app partner and currently 2x Salesforce certified.
Salesforce, founded in 1999 as a sales and marketing tool, has grown into a multifaceted ecosystem that supports many different industries. My company builds higher education applications on the platform, and I manage our customer help documentation.
Salesforce Certifications
I have two Salesforce certifications, Associate and AI Associate, and am currently studying for the Administrator exam.
