There’s a lot going on in the world right now, but I’m quietly celebrating a personal milestone: Today is my six-year anniversary with my employer.
Due to the volatility of the U.S. economy over the past 30 years and its unpredictable recession cycles, I’ve never been able to keep the same job for more than three years. I’ve been through several layoffs and reinvented myself many times. So, this period of employment stability has been a welcome change.
Anyway, I don’t want to make a huge deal since so many others are hurting right now. I’m just marking the occasion for myself, and with gratitude.
